As a class, we have decided to help support the Thanksgiving Project.
Cheri Felix, Madison’s mom, started the Thanksgiving Project in 2003. The Thanksgiving Project is an organization where families buy food for less fortunate families (usually single moms). The family that we will be sponsoring is a single mom with and 10 year old boy and a 12 year old girl. If you’re a family who wants to donate, your child will be assigned to bring non-perishable foods. You can also bring a gift card to Target, King Soopers, Whole Foods etc. Your child may be chosen to bring certain foods including, canned vegetables, non perishable stuffing, pumpkin pie mix, (if you want to get a turkey, then buy a giftcard), rice etc. Many people enjoy peanut butter and jelly, tuna, pudding ( no particular kind), and mac and cheese. Please remember everthing has to be non perishable. There is no obligation to donate. The drop off date is from now until Wednesday the 13th. Please bring all donations to Peter’s room. If you have any questions, contact Peter. From today's planning meeting lead by Walton and Nate, the following students said that they could donate the following items: Georgia W-Rice Vievey-Canned soup Leo-Canned beans Eowyn-Peanut butter Ruby-Cranberry sauce Amy-Apple juice/cider Carson-Stuffing mix Madison-Mac n Cheese, Gift card Ella-Canned fruit Amaya-Pasta Georgia N-Popcorn, crackers Peter-Pasta sauce, Gift card Ben-Jello mix Students not listed will discuss the project with their parents and decide if they want to participate and if so, what they will donate. Thank you, Carson, Madison, and Ella on behalf of the class Comments are closed.
